Burger Painting - Acrylics

Hi All,

I love burgers. After eating so many different types of burgers in India and US, I thought it would be a cool thing to paint it. Here is my painting of a burger done using Acrylics on canvas panel.

It was so much fun to do this piece of work. I'm quite happy with how it turned out to be. However, I know there is lot of room for improvement.

Now, it is very tempting to have one such burger again. Yummmmmm!

Day 7 - Sketch of Rembrandt

Hi All,

Here's my sketch for the day - Copy of Rembrandt Self Portrait. I drew this sketch of Rembrandt using Graphite pencils.

The sketch looks better in its physical form than the digital form that I have posted here. I had corrected the levels in Photoshop, so it looks more blackish. However, it was required to make it look more clear.

Rembrandt Self Portrait

Rembrandt in his lifetime created around 100 self portraits. I would be posting some more portraits of Rembrandt in the near future.

If you like this post, you may like another portrait of Rembrandt which I had sketched a few months ago.
You can find it here.

Day 3 - Sketch of Mountains

Hi All,

As you all know I'm doing 'A Sketch a Day' series and this quick piece of work is a part of it. I have used charcoal and conte sticks for this artwork.

I know this is not a sketch, however, I'm a bit flexible on that. The idea is to sketch/paint or do something creative everyday.

I'm calling this artwork 'Sketch of mountains.' I was wondering what to sketch and this was pitched by someone close.

If you have any suggestion/request, write to me or post it as a comment and I can sketch that if I find your idea interesting.  I would like to mention your name too while I post the artwork.

Bye for now. Let me know if you like.

Day 2 - Sketch of Tangerine

Day 2

Hi All,

I had a bunch of tangerines in my fruit basket, so I thought of sketching this. Sketching fruits and people is a delightful thing for me.

Realistic Tangerine using Graphite Pencils & Charcoal
I started with a rough sketch and then started building upon it slowly. It took some time to finish it. I had some problems with the shadows as it was changing constantly with the passing time. Overall I'm happy with this sketch. Let me know what you think.

Tomorrow I'd be back with something different. Visit my blog again to stay updated.

Bye for now. Take care.

Day 1- Sketch of Realistic Eye

Day 1

Hi All,

I have been thinking to do 'A sketch a day' series since quite some time now. This is my first sketch for this series.

I spent some time understanding 'How to draw a realistic eye?' It is not an easy task. Although we look at ourselves in the mirror at least 100 times a day (I do that :)), when it comes to drawing the eye, it requires a hell lot of observation.

Some time later I'd be putting a tutorial on 'How to draw a realistic eye?" I did not take pictures of the step by step drawing of an eye this time.

If you like this post, come again tomorrow to view something different and perhaps more beautiful .

Bye for now. Take care.

Valentine's Day Greeting Card

No one can forget Valentine's Day if they go out of their home. All the shops are flooded with beautiful decorations in red, most of them being roses and hearts.

'Painting hearts' is no big deal. I thought it would be great to post one more step by step tutorial on painting roses. In this tutorial I'm demonstrating "How to make a greeting card for Valentine's Day?"

This tutorial is for people who have basic painting skills. However, I have put all the steps to make it as simple as possible.
